A FAMILIAR face is all set to pull on the Primrose and Blue for Warrington Wolves’ Women again next season.
Grace Burnett, 21, has returned to the Wolves as head coach Armani Sharrock’s first signing for the 2024 season.
Burnett made her first team debut back in March 2020 – just before Lockdown – but has been playing her Rugby League with the RAF for the past couple of years.
But now, thanks to the armed forces looking to strengthen links with the Rugby League community, the former Newton Storm forward is back in Super League.
She said: “I am delighted to be back at my hometown club and looking forward to seeing the progress the club has made.
“It feels like this is a brilliant opportunity and the right time to return.
“It will be great to build relationships with a fresh team next season and playing more rugby, which is something I love to do.”
Burnett, who started playing Rugby League at Priestley College, is a former team-mate of Sharrock’s and that was a big part of the reason she chose Warrington over their Super League rivals.
She said: “I have a good connection with Armani and some of the players who retired last season, like Amy Daniels.
“I am looking forward to making new friendships and seeing the players work for one another.
“It’s all about developing physically and mentally and building that trust with the squad and the younger players coming through.
“Hopefully, this is going to be a season to remember.”
